Same with the blue switch and green. The stem changes how the switch interacts with the housing where the actual electrical circuit happens (putting it plainly). The linear stem has no bumps on the legs of it so when you push it down, it brushes a certain area flatly. Reds have a brighter sound from Browns and possibly louder. I think that’s just because Brown’s bump and slightly stiffer spring slow down how hard I can bottom out. If you have a choice, I’d go for Kailh’s silent brown because of its really nice bump and pleasant muffled thuds. Cherry Brown are almost no bump.

This is exactly what brown switches will give you. Brown switches have the tactile bump blue switches have, without the noisy click.
Browns! Very good middle ground. There is a tactile bump but not an annoying click. Meaning when you press the key there is a slight bit of "resistance" when you press it down, but not a clicky sound on every key stroke. Reds will have no "resistance" or clicky sound. Good for gaming. Second this.
